Fast-forward 26-years and the mum-of-one TV personality has gone on to become one of the most loved and well-respected broadcast meteorologists in the UK, but it wasn’t always the path that she wanted to go down.In her brand-new book, Every Day Ways To Save The Planet, Laura detailed her journey to becoming a weather whizz which originally started out in the Royal Air Force (RAF).The dedicated scientist confessed how to this day she still tries to avoid speaking in front of large crowds and has always been one to shy away from the camera despite working for ITV for more than nine years.Now, in an exclusive interview with the Daily Star, the brunette beauty confessed how she first started searching for jobs that didn’t require speaking in front of large crowds.She said: “I never actually wanted to be on telly, ever, because as soon as you’re a girl and you say, ‘I love the weather, I want to forecast the weather’ they just go, ‘Aww are you gonna be a weather girl?’“And I just thought, ‘Well, no’.
