A lot has changed with filmmaking in recent years. With the ubiquitous nature of CGI, you can do things now that were thought to be impossible years ago.
And apparently, that has changed the way some filmmakers do things, such as Ridley Scott. In a recent episode of the “DocFix” podcast (via World of Reel), cinematographer John Mathieson talked about his recent work as DP on Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator II.” During the conversation, it was evident the longtime collaborator with Scott had a lot to say about how the process of working on this film was different than working with Scott in the past.
