It seems like The Crown was just a warm-up for Gillian Anderson when it comes to acting as a woman of power as she is set to star in a very powerful upcoming series.
The actress will be jetting across the pond to the US in order to portray Eleanor Roosevelt, the longest-serving First Lady, in Showtime’s latest anthology.
Gillian will be starring alongside some other inspirational women including Viola Davis who will star as Michelle Obama and Michelle Pfeiffer as Betty Ford.
The series, which is currently titled The First Lady and the story aims to reframe American leadership ‘through the lens of the women at the heart of the White House,’ according to the release.
