As release date Jenga continues its domino effect, films moved to 2021 ages ago by early-bird studios like Sony, are having to push forward again.
Sony Pictures, who moved all their 2020 movies to 2021 in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic panic, has decided to push their “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” sequel to June 11, 2021 — exactly 37 years after the original.
Directed by Jason Reitman, the son of original “Ghostbusters” director Ivan Reitman (now a producer), “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” was originally scheduled to open in July of this year before it was pushed to March 5, 2021.
