Gerwyn Price has pulled out of an upcoming PDC darts event to enjoy a “well needed” rest. It has been a tough start to the year for The Iceman, who has been battling a hand injury, which he says has left him dealing with “demons in his head”.
He has also criticised the Premier League’s new format, which sees players compete in up to three matches in one night. Price feels the tournament should revert back to its original format of players playing once a night.
In a bid to ease his busy schedule, Price has withdrawn from this weekend’s Austrian Darts Open in Graz, where he was due to be the number one seed.
He has also suggested he will miss additional European Tour events, which include the European Open in Leverkusen and Czech Open in Prague, both in May.
