Ronaldo returned to United in the summer and picked up where he left off, grabbing a brace on his first game back against Newcastle United and another against West Ham United.
Three goals in three games for the United talisman saw him walk away with the award. But former England international, Lineker, took to social media to disagree with the decision, claiming that Liverpool’s Salah was the clear winner. “He’s been terrific, but @MoSalah should’ve won this….comfortably,” he tweeted to his 8.2million followers.
