Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Kris Boyd insists Rangers' rule-breakers have let themselves, the club and their families down.The Ibrox hero launched a stinging barb at the five partygoers at the centre of the Covid rule breach.Steven Gerrard revealed on Wednesday that Bongani Zungu, Calvin Bassey, Nathan Patterson, Dapo Mebude and Brian Kinnear were the players who had attended a weekend party.Boyd was particularly scathing of experienced 28-year-old Zungu, on loan from Amiens, and reckons he'll never be seen at Ibrox again.

Boyd told Sky Sports: "They've let themselves down, they've let their families down and they've let the club down. "Yes you can say that four of the five are young boys but it's no excuse, especially in this day and age.
