Scotland’s clash again England. Glasgow businessman Haughey heard Go Radio Football Show caller Alex Woodward reveal how he was running from Hampden to Wembley to raise funds to help build a community centre for underprivileged children in Bridgeton.
And Haughey phoned in to offer ticketless Alex a big-match brief for Scotland’s massive Euro 2020 clash with the Auld Enemy which left him and the panel, including former national team captain Barry Ferguson, gobsmacked.
Haughey - who saved Hampden as the home of Scottish football with a £2.5 million gift to help the SFA buy the stadium from Queen’s Park - also pledged to double anything up to the delighted fan’s target fund of £50,000 along with Sir Tom Hunter.
