Fulham fan tragically dies after heart attack in stands at Blackpool game

The Fulham fan who collapsed in the stands at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon has tragically died in hospital.Paul Parish sadly lost his life following a fatal cardiac arrest suffered during the Championship match with Blackpool in west London.During the first half, the game was suspended while medics rushed to Paul before he was taken to hospital for further treatment.It was reported he left the ground conscious but the Cottagers have confirmed he has passed away.In a statement, Fulham announced: "It is with immense sadness that we inform fans of the passing of supporter, Paul Parish."Paul suffered a cardiac arrest and received treatment in the Hammersmith Stand at this afternoon’s match before being transferred to the hospital.

He sadly passed away this evening."Our condolences and the thoughts of everyone at Fulham Football Club go out to Paul’s family, friends and loved ones."The family would like to thank the fans of Fulham and Blackpool for the respect and care they showed as well as all staff at Craven Cottage and at the hospital for their assistance, care and attention."Rest in Peace Paul."Fulham went on to draw the match 1-1 in difficult circumstances, and the death of supporter Paul will have rocked everyone involved with the club.Marco Silva's side are next in action on Saturday, February 5 when they travel to the Etihad to take on Premier League champions Manchester City in their FA Cup fourth-round tie.Their next home game comes the following Tuesday with London rivals Millwall visiting Craven Cottage in what will no doubt be a very emotional occasion.
