Perth post office branch has been given support by local politicians after being refused permission to issue car tax renewals.
Perth City Centre Lib Dem councillor Peter Barrett told the PA the Post Office Ltd had declined to provide the facility at Bridgend Post Office on the grounds that there was adequate coverage in place elsewhere.
But with Scone Post Office closed, he argued that there is no convenient place for drivers on the north bank of the Tay to get their car forms issued.
Cllr Barrett has launched a campaign calling on the Post Office Ltd to reverse its decision and enable the Bridgend branch to issue and renew vehicle road fund licenses and forms.Cllr Barrett visited the Bridgend Post Office with Lib Dem leader Willie Rennie.
