Legendary singer Freddie Mercury is said to have enjoyed a cheeky friendship with the iconic Diana, Princess of Wales. The Queen frontman is thought to have spent time drinking bubbly, watching classic sitcom The Golden Girls, and heading out to gay bars with The Princess of Wales.

Actress Cleo Rocos recalled in 2013 how Freddie and Princess Diana enjoyed fun afternoons in each other's company and she herself joined them on occasion with comedic actor Kenny Everett.

According to by Vanity Fair, in Cleo's book The Power of Positive Drinking she noted that the group spent an afternoon "drinking champagne in front of reruns of The Golden Girls with the sound turned down".
