Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (born Rachel Meghan Markle; August 4, 1981) is an American member of the British royal family and former actress.
Markle was raised in Los Angeles, California and has a mixed ethnic heritage. During her studies at Northwestern University, she began playing small roles in television series and films. From 2011 to 2017, she played Rachel Zane on the American legal drama Suits. The remaining episodes then aired on Sunday nights. The show centered around the Moody family – featuring Sean Sr. (Denis Leary), his wife Ann (Elizabeth Perkins), their eldest son Sean Jr. (Jay Baruchel), middle child daughter Bridget (Chelsea Frei), and youngest son Dan (Francois Arnaud) – all living together under one roof.
