The Hyundai, which was being driven using what police say were false licence plates, was followed through the Moston and Harpurhey areas of the city by Greater Manchester Police on Monday afternoon before being abandoned.
Four people then allegedly attempted to evade capture by hiding in shrubs and undergrowth. However, all of the four were detained after sniffer dogs and the National Police Air Service assisted with the search, with the quartet being arrested on suspicion of burglary.
