Formula One confirms 2021 Japanese Grand Prix cancelled over Covid

The race, which was also cancelled last season because of the pandemic, was scheduled to return to the calendar in mid-October.

But those plans have now been shelved as F1 bosses face up to another reshuffle during one of the most exciting seasons in years.

Japan's withdrawal leaves the Formula One calendar facing another reshuffle after races in Australia, Canada, Singapore and China were postponed or cancelled this season.
