Former Grandstand presenter Frank Bough passes away

Broadcasting legend Frank Bough has passed away at the age of 87.The Grandstand host pioneered broadcasting in the UK and became one of the most famous and highest-paid stars.A family friend confirmed that he passed away on Wednesday of last week in a care home.Frank lead the team who launched the BBC’s Breakfast Time, revolutionising the UK television landscape in January 1983.While he was a talented sportsman, he decided to pursue a career in the media.

He first started working in BBC regional news then national sports programmes Sportsview and Grandstand.He anchored six football World Cups, six Olympics and at least 12 of rugby’s Five Nations Championships for the corporation.However, it was his role on Breakfast Time that he became best.
