Blackpool striker Beryly “Bez” Lubala, 24, allegedly met the woman after she liked a series of photos on his social media, and invited her round to ‘watch Netflix and chill’.The woman claims he grabbed her hair and told her to keep quiet and “be a good girl” before raping her at a home in September 2019, following a number of previous sexual encounters.

Lubala denies rape and said the allegations are a “big shock” as he was on a “good buzz” with his career at the time. Lewes Crown Court, sitting at Brighton Magistrates’ Court, heard the pair had met twice before the alleged rape and had engaged in sexual activity on both occasions.
