flood warnings have been issued for Scotland after heavy rain battered large parts of the country last night. The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has handed out 26 warnings for potential floods.
Parts of Aberdeenshire, Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway, Moray and the Western Isles have all been impacted. Additional flood alerts have been issued to Argyll and Bute, Caithness and Sutherland, Easter Ross and Great Glen and Orkney.Many Scots had a sleepless night yesterday evening as heavy rain descended on the country.The majority of flood warnings issued in Scotland have also been attributed to high tides, surge and waves.Showers are expected to cause chaos across the country on Sunday and could continue into Monday.
