Tammy Hembrow took a stand against racism in an Instagram post yesterday – but it left some questioning her heritage. As protests continue due to the tragic death of George Floyd, the Australian fitness star used her platform to raise awareness about prejudice.

In a message to her 11.3 million followers, she acknowledged that “the colour of (her) skin” makes her “privileged”. She also vowed to stand up for her friends and family members due to “everything that is going on” at the moment.

Tammy wrote: “I’ve been thinking about this a lot and have been unsure how to approach it or what I should say exactly. “Although I have been posting a little on my stories, as well as having much needed petitions / donating, I recognise it’s not enough.”
