The first ever Corridor of Light - a plethora of new visual arts commissions and live entertainment - has launched tonight (Thursday, October 21) in Manchester city centre.
The three-day event kicked off at Manchester Central Library where a three-metre high illuminated 'Recovery Poem' captured the imagination of passing workers, shoppers and visitors.
The Corridor stretches a sure mile south of the library in St Peter's Square and covered the city's innovation district and home to its diverse and international community.
