Union bosses have agreed to lift an overtime ban on firefighters in Greater Manchester as the coronavirus worsens. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has produced a 'worse case scenario' amid the pandemic, including having just 20 engines on the road.
As reported in the Manchester Evening News , as of late last week, 62 firefighters were in self isolation due to the virus. In October, firefighters voted to slash the amount of overtime they work in protest after six fire engines were taken off the road across the region due to government-imposed cuts.
