'Fire obsessed' thug killed OAP after setting fire to his mobility scooter

arsonist "obsessed with fire" who killed a pensioner has been jailed for more than 13 years. Richard Newing, 43, set a mobility scooter alight outside Malcolm Turner's home in Foleshill, Coventry.The flames quickly spread to Mr Turner's home which became wrapped in a ferocious blaze and trapped the pensioner inside, unable to escape.His property was filled with smoke, with the force of the flames blowing out the windows, Coventry Live reports.Mr Turner, who was heavily reliant on his scooter, was unable to leave the building as the fire was started at the only exit of his home.Fire crews were quick to attend, however due to the ferocity of the blaze, Mr Turner sadly died at the scene.
