Manchester City bounced back from their Champions League semi-final defeat by Real Madrid in the best possible way. The defending champions ran out 5-0 winners to move three points clear at the top of the Premier League following Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham.Sterling scored the first and last goals, with Rodri, Aymeric Laporte and Phil Foden all netting in between to give City’s goal difference a healthy boost.

The hosts opened the scoring in style, with Ilkay Gundogan picking out Joao Cancelo, who headed perfectly back across goal for Sterling to bury it with a diving header. Those watching on TV were underwhelmed with Tyler’s reaction, however.

The Sky Sports commentator said: “Gundogan, Cancelo… beautifully set up for Raheem Sterling. So they have scored – not in the first 15 minutes this time – but inside 20.

They’re starting to think about life after last Wednesday.”City fans were not impressed. "Has Martin Tyler forgotten what excitement is?" one wrote on Twitter. "Martin Tyler sounds genuinely gutted!” added another. "Martin Tyler sounds depressed every time City score,” commented another. "Martin Tyler sounds thrilled!" wrote one supporter sarcastically.HAVE YOUR SAY!
