Fallon Sherrock gave arguably the finest player in the world at present, Michael Smith, a big scare as she bowed out Nordic Darts Masters in Denmark.The Queen of the Palace crashed out of the US Masters in New York at the first hurdle in disappointing fashion last weekend, mustering an average in the low 70s as she was beaten by Leonard Gates.However, at the second event of the invitational World Series of Darts in Copenhagen, Sherrock has produced a much better showing.

On Friday night, the 27-year-old dispatched Darius Labanauskas 6-1 before being pitted against the in-form Smith, who won the US Masters in thrilling style.Many fans were predicting an easy win for Smith, but it was anything but as Sherrock piled early pressure on the number one seed.

Thanks to some brilliant finishing, she raced into a 3-0 lead and had to chance to make it 4-0, only to fail to take out 90.Smith recovered by reeling off four straight legs to lead 4-3.

However, Sherrock stayed with Bully Boy, levelling to make it 4-4, 5-5 and 6-6. Smith finally created some breathing space after Sherrock missed a double to make it 7-7, opening up a two-leg lead for the first time in the match. Is Fallon Sherrock the best women's player in the world?
