F1 and MotoGP have collided after Ferrari star Carlos Sainz offered a helping hand to Marc Marquez as his countryman attempts to put the injury torment of the last two years behind him.
Eight-time world champion Marquez has been beset by an arm problem ever since a horrifying crash at the start of the delayed 2020 season at Jerez.
The Repsol Honda rider has been forced to miss much of the 2022 campaign after undergoing another operation on the limb but made his latest comeback at Aragon at the weekend.Sainz was an interested spectator at the Spanish circuit and is delighted to see Marquez back in action, even if his comeback race ended shortly after a first-lap collision with current world champion Fabio Quartararo. While Sainz is no longer based in Madrid, he has gone out of his way to help Marquez settle in.“Since I found out he was coming to live in Madrid, I tried to help him adapt himself and feel as comfortable as possible in my hometown,” said Sainz in a promotional video for Estrella Galicia 0,0.“I don't live in Madrid anymore, but I go back there every weekend and try to meet him.
