A former councillor who was ordered to pay thousands of pounds in damages to Jeremy Corbyn is facing a difficult Christmas.
Ex-Tory councillor Paul Nickerson agreed to pay the former Labour leader after reaching a settlement in court for sharing a defamatory image online of Mr Corbyn carrying a Remembrance wreath next to the taxi which exploded outside of Liverpool Women's Hospital.
The exact amount that Mr Nickerson owed has not been disclosed for legal reasons but the councillor, who had been a Conservative before his social media post, said the payout has left him "penniless", as reported by Wales Online.
