Danny Dyer confirmed that he has quit BBC show The Wall following his recent sad announcement. Four months ago the Albert Square icon made it public that he was planning on leaving EastEnders after almost a decade on the show.

Back in January, The Mirror revealed that he was leaving the British broadcaster for a rival channel in a sudden and unexpected career change. It has been reported that he is planning to work with Sky for a six figure deal, less than his current reported £1 million salary with the BBC.However, it is believed that his new gig will “open the door” to new opportunities which could potentially be worth more than his EastEnders earnings.Danny spoke to The Sun about whether he would be returning to host The Wall alongside Angela Rippon, which he denied with a simple “no”.The BBC are famously strict with their talent and his centre stage role as Mick Carter in the soap has stopped him branching out to work with other potential employers.Danny seems to have blossomed since he announced his exit and has recently admitted he has plans to host a new quiz show for streaming giant Netflix.Despite the myriad of jobs that are seemingly falling into his lap, Danny has previously admitted that leaving the broadcaster is a “risk”.He told The Mirror: “When you’re in a job like a soap, your contract comes up for renewal and every time it has, they’ve asked me to stay and I’m very grateful for that.

I’ve seen a lot of people come and go, it’s very tough.”He continued: “I always debate whether I want to sign again and I’ve been contemplating for a while now about whether it’s time to roll the dice and take the leap.
