Per Mertesacker has hailed Manchester United's new interim manager Ralf Rangnick as an ‘amazing role model’. The 63-year-old German was confirmed as the Red Devils boss until the end of the season earlier this week, and will stay on at the club in a consultancy role for a further two years.
Former Arsenal defender Mertesacker made his senior debut under Rangnick at German club Hannover 96 as an 18-year-old, and now works as the Gunners’ academy manager.
