Environmental campaigner welcomes town's new top-up drinking water tap

Callander, Balmaha, Rowardennan and Balloch – as part of an expanding network across Scotland. The move comes on the back of an initiative by an ecological campaigner from the town who wanted to reduce the amount of single-use plastic being used in Callander.In September 2019, we told how the then 34-year-old marine biologist, Paul Fraser, was leading the project in his own time.The drive to get visitors to stay hydrated using refillable bottles is also aimed at reducing waste and litter, such as single-use plastic.It was estimated that up to 12.7 million tonnes of plastic ends up in the world’s oceans every year.
