Marcus Rashford (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.
A Manchester United player from the age of seven, he scored two goals on both his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.
He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first EFL Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. With United, Rashford has so far won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Europa League.
Manchester United flop has not been included in Southgate's latest squad for the upcoming friendlies against Switzerland and Cote d'Ivoire.
And with just two more England camps scheduled in June and September before England head to Qatar 2022, it means Rashford is facing a losing battle to show Southgate he is worth a place in his final squad for the Finals. But there was better news for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, 21, who has been handed a shock first senior international call-up by Southgate, who has also included Harry Maguire despite his dire form for United.
And Southgate has also handed a second call-up to Guehi's Palace team-mate Conor Gallagher, along with recalling Southampton's James Ward-Prowse.Rashford, 24, has not been included in a Three Lions squad since last summer's Euros, after undergoing a shoulder operation following the tournament.
His last contribution on the England stage was to miss a spot-kick in the crushing shoot-out defeat to Italy in the Final in July.Since returning to fitness in October, Rashford has endured a miserable campaign that has seen him score just five goals and lose his place in the United starting XI.
