EMMERDALE'S Tony Audenshaw has revealed the "devastating" moment he learned his wife had just months to live. The actor - who plays Bob Hope in the ITV soap - sadly lost his wife Ruth to pancreatic cancer in 2017.
Earlier today the soap star appeared on This Morning to help people spot the signs of the disease and raise awareness. After being told that her tumour was inoperable, the pair were hopeful after finding a doctor who would operate on it in Germany.
But they were left heartbroken when they were told the news that the cancer had spread. Tony said: "Part of the thing when you have surgery is that you can’t have chemotherapy for a little while because, obviously chemotherapy kills the good cells as well as the bad cells, so while it was all clinging together, some cells got loose.
