Emmerdale is celebrating its 50th Anniversary on October 16 with a special episode that aims to keep viewers' pulses racing and on the edges of their seats.With a dramatic storm approaching the village, Emmerdale Executive Producer Jane Hudson has promised a variety of storylines that will have fans glued to their screens.From jaw-dropping returns to a deadly windstorm, things are set to heat up in the not-so-quiet Yorkshire Dales.READ MORE: Emmerdale fans baffled as they spot 'invisible' characters hiding out in Liv's houseBut as the special episode approaches next week, Daily Star has taken a detailed look at what's in store and the spoilers that viewers should look out for.Emmerdale's anniversary will kick off on Sunday 16 with an hour-long special.Although the popular soap doesn't air on the weekend, ITV has made an exception for this special occasion to coincide with the original release date.

As the announcement of the hour special was made, Emmerdale chiefs released a new official cast photo. The photo was taken earlier this year outside famous The Woolpack on the show's purpose-built village set.The picture includes all members of the current cast including the dog.Faith Dingle has been suffering with terminal cancer which has lead to an avalanche of devastation amongst the Dingle clang.But to viewers' disappointment, her final scenes will be shown in October as she passes away after her long battle with the horrendous disease.Discussing Faith's death Jane Hudson explained: "As we start our birthday month, we'll be focusing on our Faith storyline, which is a huge storyline for us at the moment."Then we will work our way into our storm week."The Faith story is such an emotional and heartbreaking story.
