Emma Watson this week. Which is unusual because she hasn’t been in a film since her 2019 outing at the second most boring March sister in Little Women.
But yesterday the internet was awash with chatter that Watson had officially retired from acting. This morning the rumours were refuted by her management who issued a statement clarifying that it is Watson’s social media accounts which have gone dormant, not her career.
Which comes as something of a disappointment, because I was very much of the opinion that retiring was the smartest move Watson could possibly make.
I should first state that I have skin in the game with Watson. I, like every other precocious child in South West London in the late 1990s, was gunning for the part of Hermione.
