Instead, it became a costly experiment in blockbuster filmmaking that lost money and suffered a trouble production narrative. ‘Solo’ didn’t hit financial targets given the hefty production costs due to reshoots with replacement director Ron Howard after Phil Lord and Chris Miller were fired over creative differences with only three weeks of filmmaking left.
