Ed Woodward remains a crucial element of Manchester United's business - despite being set to step down at the end of 2021. Following the failed European Super League in April, Woodward confirmed that he would leave his role as executive vice-chairman.
The much-maligned chief's reign began in 2013 after Sir Alex Ferguson and David Gill left Old Trafford. Supporters rejoiced at his impending departure but his time in charge was long from being over.
Woodward has handed Red Devils fans two big leaving presents already, helping to secure the signing of £73million Jadon Sancho and tie down Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to a new three-year contract.
