EastEnders ratings plummet to lowest in history months after impressive awards win

EastEnders have dropped to the lowest in its history. Just 1.38million tuned on for Monday night’s episode of the BBC soap - that’s less than five per cent of the number of viewers the show got at its peak.More than 30million people watched the Christmas special in 1986. A show spokeswoman said: “Since the start of Wimbledon this week and with a summer of sport ahead on BBC One, EastEnders is dropping each week’s episodes on iPlayer every Monday to give viewers the choice of when and where to watch. “So it’s no surprise the overnight figures are impacted.
