VIEWERS were caught by surprise when soap bosses made a few changes in Monday's EastEnders instalment. The long-running program is known to add in scenes that mention events happening off-screen.
As each episode of the BBC One drama are filmed months in advance, last-minute scenes take producers a great deal of effort to rescript, film and add into episodes which are already finished.
However, EastEnders writers went the extra mile after last night's trip to Albert Square with two references that left viewers stunned but delighted.
There was first a football reference during a scene between Frankie Lewis and Callum Highway, as Mick Carter's daughter suggested the police officer was feeling down due to Mark Noble retiring after 18 years with West Ham.
