dailyrecord.co.ukA dad-of-two has been jailed after giving police the slip in a high speed chase.Scott Allan claimed he panicked when officers tried to stop him for a routine check on March 1 last year.Hamilton Sheriff Court heard he went through a red light and clocked speeds of around 70 miles per hour.Allan, 35, formerly of Burncrooks Avenue in the town, admitted driving dangerously on various roads in East Kilbride, Carmunnock, King's Park and Castlemilk.Jennifer McCabe, prosecuting, said officers decided to pull over his Vauxhall Insignia in Tewkesbury Road shortly after 11pm.But when they put on their blue light and siren, he drove off.The vehicle was pursued on various roads in the Calderwood area before Allan made his way to the Whirlies roundabout
