An East Ayrshire councillor has been recognised for her dedication to ensuring youngster’s voices are heard during council decision making.Cllr Claire Leitch of East Ayrshire Council scooped the the Champion for Education Award at this year’s Cllr Awards last night.Ms Leitch was honoured for her determination and representation of the youth voice in all decision making throughout the council.
Cllr Leitch was also celebrated for her work giving children and young people the power to shape council decisions.The annual Cllr Awards, now in its fourth year, are the only national awards to celebrate the vital contributions of local councillors across Scotland.As communities continue to recover from the pandemic, these Awards, run by LGIU Scotland
