A gymnastics coach who organised online sessions to help tackle isolation during the coronavirus pandemic has been recognised with a national award.Megan Bennington was one of 25 coaches across the UK to be honoured at the UK Coaching Hero Awards in Leeds last week.She received her prize from UK Coaching’s Royal Patron, HRH The Princess Royal.Megan runs Stewartry Gymnastics Club and Gymtastic at St John’s in Castle Douglas.During lockdown, she ran Zoom sessions for all her young gymnasts to help them maintain their fitness and morale, as well as one-to-one sessions for those keen for further development.She also supported some of the parents by creating health and fitness programmes for them.Megan said: “I am extremely proud to be
