EASTENDERS’ Sid Owen today lifts the lid on his cocaine and booze binges and romps with groupies. The star, 49, battled a drug habit after a tough childhood and says: “I’m proud I’m still alive.” In a sensational interview he admits he “lapped it up” when female soap fans threw themselves at him.

The EastEnders actor, 49, says he needed rehab to beat a £200-a-night cocaine habit, admitting: “My job meant more than going out and getting off my face.” Popular Sid, who played Ricky Butcher, also reveals how he: SNORTED cocaine as he learned his lines for the BBC soap; ROMPED with groupies; SMOKED from the age of four; BOOZED from 12; WAS left traumatised as his dad beat his mum and brothers; BROKE into a school aged ten.
