Hundreds of bees have been seen swarming around a sign outside a Betfred shop. On Wednesday, June 22, a Betfred shop in Whitechapel, Liverpool, received quite the shock when a large swarm of bees decided to all gather around the location's front sign.

Photographer Dan Hill took a number of pictures of the strange occurrence after spotting the swarm, the Liverpool Echo reports.

While many walking past the sign may be alarmed by the swarm, it's important to note that most bees are not impulsively aggressive and will usually leave people alone as long as they are not aggravated.

The swarm is likely caused by the bees looking for a new home and is a completely natural phenomenon. Read more: Aldi follows M&S and makes 'game-changing' announcement to all shoppers If you come across a swarm of bees the most important thing to do is not panic and leave them alone.
