BBC's popular business show Dragons’ Den .But according to a successful business owner, viewers only get to see a glimpse of the pressures that occur on the screen.For aspiring entrepreneurs, appearing on the show can catapult their business to a bigger audience, customers and clientele – or do the opposite.So what can a budding business owner do to wow Dragons Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones, Sara Davies, Touker Suleyman and new Dragon Steven Bartlett?Edward Hancock, who is the founder of Cheesegeek, an online cheesemonger who specialises in supplying British artisan cheeses directly to customers’ doors, was the first businessman to enter the Den in the new series of the BBC show.Alongside his business partner Richard Simpson, Edward, 39, they agreed a great offer from Steven Barlett, who offered the pair £150,000 for a 5% stake in the company.Now, Edward and Richard have revealed what really goes on behind the scenes on the highly intense show and how future business owners can deliver the perfect pitch to hopefully win the Dragons over.Due to loads of entrepreneurs applying to take part in the long-running series, Edward said the process is very thorough.He explained: "When we first applied to appear on Dragons’ Den, I don’t think we really believed we would get through to the next stage, let alone appear on the show."It’s a thorough process - video auditions, comprehensive due diligence, form after form.

Then an email arrived with confirmation - we had a slot on the very first day of filming the new series."The star went on to explain how excited he was when he was chosen to film for the show.He continued: "Excitement was our first reaction.
