Douglas Ross says he has not spoken to or ever met Dominic Cummings since he resigned as a minister over the lockdown breaches by the Prime Minister's senior adviser.
The new leader of the Scottish Conservatives resigned from the Scotland Office in May in protest at Dominic Cummings’ trip to Barnard Castle in north-east England during the lockdown.
The Moray MP said he had not confronted Johnson's powerful aide to protest over his behaviour.Ross said: "I haven't spoken to him before I resigned and I haven't talked to him since I resigned.
I've never met the man."The MP told the BBC that Cummings and Downing Street had no role in deciding he should replace Jackson Carlaw as Scottish party leader.Ross said: "They had no involvement.
