Dominic Cummings has been challenged by a former top prosecutor to provide evidence about his movements during lockdown. The Mirror revealed in May the PM’s aide drove from London to Dur- ham despite having Covid symptoms.
Now ex-Chief Prosecutor Nazir Afzal, whose brother Umar died from coronavirus in April, has written to Mr Cummings and wife Mary Wakefield requesting data about their movements on certain key dates.
Durham Police said Mr Cummings “might” have broken lockdown rules, following revelations of his journey and a separate 60-mile round trip to a local beauty spot.
He said he and wife Mary isolated at his family’s farm in Co Durham because they were worried about childcare for their four-year-old son.
