rain was so dirty yesterday in the UK.Apparently, a dense fog of dust and sand travelled across Europe so that when rain fell on Britain it dragged the dirt down to land on our windows, cars and paving stones. The strangely brown rain was caused by Saharan dust clouds which were carried on winds across the continent – and this is why there was an orangey hue to the sky and the rain. The Met Office explained: “In order for the dust to get from up in the sky down to the ground, you need something to wash it out of the sky – rain.“As raindrops fall, they collect particles of dust on the way down.

Then when the raindrops land on something and eventually evaporate, they leave behind a layer of dust.”And, the Met Office tweeted: “Whilst this #dust is mostly about 2km above ground level, some deposits may fall to the ground, especially during today’s rain in southern parts of the UK”.But, now that the Saharan dust seems to have passed from our skies we’re all left with mucky windows – so how can you get them to sparkle once again?Well, a Mrs Hinch fan has come to the rescue with her cleaning solution for gleaming streak-free windows. And, she uses two common household products dissolved in water.Stacie Downs made a video of her nifty trick and shared it on the Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It Facebook group.
