Dimitar Berbatov has warned Harry Kane he is facing "tense" meetings with Tottenham chiefs after informing the club he would like to leave.
But the Bulgarian encouraged the Englishman to "follow his path", just as he did by handing in a transfer request to force a move from Spurs to Manchester United in 2008.
It emerged earlier this week that Kane had asked to leave his boyhood club, and the 27-year-old declared on Thursday he will enter talks with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
United, as well as Manchester City and Chelsea, have made enquiries about the Three Lions captain with a view to a summer transfer.
