Developer 'left with no option' but to shoot 40 kangaroos on future housing site

A developer has been given permission to shoot 40 kangaroos to free up plans for a future housing site. Property developer Intrapac said they had called on authorities to offer other options in removing or sterilising the animals, but claims they were "ignored".

After applying for a permit to shoot the creatures in Kinley, in Melbourne, Australia, they were told the cull could go ahead.

Intrapac chief, Max Shifman, said they are now having to face angry locals after sending out a letter advising them on the cull.

He said: "It's horrible. I mean, last thing I want to do is go shooting animals. “We'd been lambasted as these typical evil developers, trying to destroy the world and kill everything, but it's the last thing we want to be known
