The deputy Labour party leader and Ashton MP was speaking at late-night event at the Labour Party Conference in Brighton when she made the comments.
She said they were directed at the Prime Minister - not the people who vote for the party and were a "post watershed" effort to get "fire in the belly" of activists, The Mirror reported.
