The old Droylsden Library, on Manchester Road, closed its doors for the final time last month before moving a few metres down the road into Guardsman Tony Downes House.
While the new library boasts impressive facilities, there has been an outpouring of anger at the decision to knock down the old library, and a petition urging Tameside Council to rethink the move has received more than 1,350 signatures so far this month.
