— Claire, OxonI think we may be moving into Prince Philip territory here. The late Duke gave up driving after a nasty crash in Norfolk as he was pulling out of the Sandringham estate.

The royal four-by-four ended up on its side, and the car it collided with in a hedge. Luckily no one was seriously hurt, but after years of close family questioning his fitness to drive, the game was up.

Three weeks after the crash, he hung up his keys.It certainly sounds as if your husband takes risks. Not good when you’re in your 30s; but if he’s in his 80s, his reaction times will be slowing and the margin for error narrowing.

I think you’re right to be worried about him, your own safety, and that of others.I don’t think talking to him one-to-one will work.
